For Ramblin’ Men

Man on the roadA lot of men have to travel extensively for their living. The Allman Brothers sang about life on the road — but made it sound romantic and exciting:

Lord, I was born a ramblin man,
Tryin to make a livin and doin the best I can.
And when its time for leavin,
I hope youll understand,
That I was born a ramblin man.

But life on the road is not so much fun after doing it for a while. Do you travel for a living? Perhaps you are a truck or bus driver, a pilot, or a salesman. Are you a member of the military stationed far away from family or friends? You may be a young person just going off to college, going off to live your own life.

Man on the Road is a ministry whose mission is helping men with temptation. Their tag line is, ‘It’s about honor! It’s about integrity! It’s about purity!’ Our focus is in helping people (especially men) who travel for a living or are away from home and accountability for other reasons such as university or military service to live lives of honor, integrity, and purity.” Exact numbers are difficult to pin down, but there are millions of professional truck and bus drivers in America—drivers that spend days and weeks away from their families. Unknown numbers of people travel in other occupations. Those people are inundated with temptations of every kind every day. One of the greatest temptations for them is sexually immoral activity.

Man on the Road just launched the new website which will provide resources and encouragement to help men on the road. They are also developing some new print and recorded resources on CD and in MP3 format. These resources will be available free of charge to anyone. Their ultimate goal is to reach as many people who travel for a living with the message of honor, integrity, and purity. That means spreading the word from coast to coast and from border to border. Please see their website (http://www.manontheroad.org/) if you can help spread the word.
